Where to See Quetzals in Costa Rica

The resplendent quetzal is one of the most visually striking birds in the Americas — and Costa Rica's cloud forests are one of the most reliable places to see it. Breeding season (February through May) brings the best chances, but sightings occur year-round in the right elevation zones.
